The Char-Broil Pig Bowl
The Aflac Outdoor Games will again host the Char-Broil Pig Bowl, a professional and amateur barbeque contest competing for over $7,500 in cash and prizes. The professional division of theĀ Char-Broil Pig Bowl is officially sanctioned by theĀ Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS), a nonprofit organization that has sanctioned almost 300 barbeque contests throughout America. The 2010 Char-Broil Pig Bowl is divided into a professional division (judging to be held on Saturday, May 22) and an amateur division (judging to be held on Sunday, May 23). There are four barbeque categories: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork and Beef Brisket. Standard team space is 20′ x 25′ (extra space can be purchased for an additional $100). Water and 110 power is available on a limited basis; first come first serve. All cook teams are to supply their own power source for R/Vs (Generator). A team may compete in one, two, three, or all four categories. 1st through 5th place for each category will be awarded, and then an overall Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion will be crowned for both the professional and amateur divisions. To qualify for the Grand and Reserve Grand Champions, teams must be entered in all four barbeque categories.
Entry Fees: There is a $250 fee to enter the professional division and a $150 fee to enter the amateur division. Make checks payable to: Aflac Outdoor Games. Click the tabs on the right to register for the appropriate cooking division (professional or amateur). .
KCBS Judges: Click on Judges Tab to register to judge the professional division at the 2010 Pig Bowl. Judges must be registered by KCBS.
